Healthy Hearts, Stronger Community: Elevating Wellness at the III Cardiovascular Health Fair
Awareness and action: Key elements for a fulfilling and healthy life in our community
The III Cardiovascular Health Fair in Mexico City, initiated by Patients of the Heart (PACO) and the Mexican Heart Foundation, emerged as a beacon of community wellness by offering free medical testing and education about cardiovascular health. Held at the Monument to the Revolution, this fair did more than provide essential health evaluations like blood pressure, glucose, and cholesterol measurements; it became a platform for promoting a comprehensive approach to well-being.
Luci de Castro, Vice President of PACO, emphasized the importance of prevention: “We focus not only on early diagnosis but also on continuous education to foster a healthy lifestyle across all aspects.” This event went beyond detecting health issues to offer practical and accessible solutions that promote physical, mental, and emotional health.
Activities included CPR training provided by the Mexican Red Cross and yoga sessions, highlighting stress management and regular physical activity as pillars of a healthy heart. These activities don’t just teach vital skills but also reinforce the mind-body connection, essential for a balanced life.
Claudia Ruiz from the Mexican Heart Foundation highlighted the value of accessibility: “By removing economic barriers, we ensure that everyone has the opportunity to lead a healthier, more conscious life. This event is a testament to our dedication to a healthy and well-informed community.”
With a multidimensional focus on wellness, the III Cardiovascular Health Fair illustrates how comprehensive care for cardiovascular health can be the cornerstone for improving life quality. It is a tangible demonstration that wellness is a universal right and an essential component for a vibrant and sustainable community.
